Leave Us Alone

US President George W. Bush said he would carry on trying to make homosexual marriages illegal in the United States, believing that the marriage between a man and a woman is the most fundamental institution of civilization, BBC news reported.

I think what he said is uncivilized. The idea making it a political issue is absolutely ridiculous. As a human, everyone has the right to decide whatever they want to do. America, well-known as a country of liberty, should be a paradise for those who seek freedom in everything. Freedom of speech, freedom of action, freedom to marry anybody one wishes to tie the knot with, regardless whether it's with the same or the opposite sex. Government should mind its own business. Don't they have better things to do? The country has so many other important things to deal with, I don't think deciding who one can marry is one of their duties.

They must be so busy fighting terrorism. I would not think that they would have any extra energy to fight againts human rights issue. Don't you think so?

More importantly, there are just so many gays in the world. It's impossible to stop these people doing what they want to do. After all, each individual deserves to be happy. If marrying the same sex makes one happy, why even bother to stop people. To begin with, one has no right.

  • i think bush should just leave the issue of gay marraige in america alone. in the end, it's going to divide the country (more than we're already divided!) and what two consenting adults do is no one's business but the people involved. heaven help us if he gets this through and changes our constitution with an amendment banning gay marriage.

if i want to marry a woman, i should have that right, just as i have if i want to marry a man. it's not the government's place to tell its citizens who they can and cannot marry.

hell, it's not the government's place to tell us a lot of things it does!
