ANTI BUSH GAY COMMUNITY

"Young people listening to Bush today will wonder if they can be part of the American dream, when marrying the person they love might never be part of their future."

The Angry and Frustrated Gay Republicans

Marriage between a man and a woman isn't something Republicans invented, but it is something Republicans will defend.”

Gay Republicans are furious at the President George W. Bush's backing of a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.

"It is impossible to overstate the depth of anger and disappointment caused by the president's support for an antifamily constitutional amendment. This amendment would not only ban gay marriage, it would also jeopardize civil unions and domestic partnerships," said Chris Barron, political director of Log Cabin Republicans, a gay and lesbian Republican organization.

Gay Republicans said they want President Bush at least express support for issues like legal benefits for gay couples. They see their expectations as moderate and reasonable, yet they get little sympathy from their own party.

Gay republicans are still licking their wounds from Bush's bid earlier this year to amend the Constitutions to restrict marriage to heterosexual couples.

There were one million gay and lesbian voters who cast their ballots for President George W. Bush four years ago, according to a 2000 exit poll data.

The national board of Log Cabin Republicans called Bush "disloyal" to the 1 million gay men and lesbian women who supported his candidacy four years ago.

Today, gay Republicans who support gay rights warned President Bush that they will desert him in November if he doesn’t change course on gay rights.

Some of gay Republicans said they will drop their fund-raising efforts and no longer plan to vote for Bush. Others even said they won't vote for Bush at all.

Now the disappointed gay Republicans said they intend to fight the amendment on the platform committee and work against a second Bush term.

This will cost Bush not only the estimated 1 million gay voters—a quarter of the gay vote—who supported him in 2000, but like-minded swing voters too.

When A Man Loves A Man...When A Woman Loves A Woman...

"We're here, we're queer, get over it."

What is a marriage?
Is it a union between a man and a woman only? Or is it a union between the two in love? And why do people have to get married?
According to a research, people should be encouraged to marry because married people are healthier and happier than unmarried people. Yet, there are some parties who ban gay marriage. They shouldn't.
And why should we legalize gay marriage?

To begin with, there should be no discrimination in this world. People should be free to decide what they want to do with their lives. Equally, gay men and lesbians can choose to be married without having to ask anybody's permission; it's up to them.

Legalizing gay marriage doesn't hurt heterosexuals. On the contrary, it would benefit societies, the children involved, and the institution of marriage in the same way that heterosexuals do.

There are many ways marriage has changed. Marriage is now gender and racially neutral.
When two people decide to get married these days, they are no longer obliged to have children. Society does not make marriage a requirement for being allowed to have children anymore. There are a lot of children already being parented by same-sex couples. The truth is that many same-sex couples are capable of being good parents, and many provide children with a loving and beneficial start to life.

Research finding says that children of same-sex parents are as psychologically healthy and as emotionally healthy and behave as well as those of heterosexual parents. They are likely to benefit rather than suffer if their parents' relationship gets the status, stability, and other benefits of marriage.

In general, the important thing is not the sex of the parents, but whether they are in a happy and contented relationship that provides a model of sharing and togetherness and a secure and loving family in which the children can flourish.

The final question is will people in heterosexual marriages lose any of the financial, legal and social benefits of marriage, will they want to get divorced, so that they can enter same-sex marriages?

The answer to this is NO.

Leave Us Alone

US President George W. Bush said he would carry on trying to make homosexual marriages illegal in the United States, believing that the marriage between a man and a woman is the most fundamental institution of civilization, BBC news reported.

I think what he said is uncivilized. The idea making it a political issue is absolutely ridiculous. As a human, everyone has the right to decide whatever they want to do. America, well-known as a country of liberty, should be a paradise for those who seek freedom in everything. Freedom of speech, freedom of action, freedom to marry anybody one wishes to tie the knot with, regardless whether it's with the same or the opposite sex. Government should mind its own business. Don't they have better things to do? The country has so many other important things to deal with, I don't think deciding who one can marry is one of their duties.

They must be so busy fighting terrorism. I would not think that they would have any extra energy to fight againts human rights issue. Don't you think so?

More importantly, there are just so many gays in the world. It's impossible to stop these people doing what they want to do. After all, each individual deserves to be happy. If marrying the same sex makes one happy, why even bother to stop people. To begin with, one has no right.

What You Have Been Waiting For

This is the blog of Linda Bong.

This blog is designed exclusively for gays who are naturally against George W. Bush.

As you probably know, George W. Bush do not support gay marriage. Do you think this will affect you in the upcoming presidential election? As a gay, do you think that you are going to vote for him? Why or why not?

Feel free to state your opinion on this blog. I believe that there are many American gays out there who feel like sharing what they thinkl about Bush. Well, this is the right place to do so. This is a media where gays can participate and tell political or even personal opinion freely.

So, if you are gay and you have a mind of your own, tell your name and a bit more about yourself and just blurt it out.
